Principal’s Welcome

AP Headshot

I am proud to be the Principal of Stamford Welland Academy were every child is known, valued and supported. We combine the best educational practices in our academic curriculum with the character-building opportunities afforded in our parallel curriculum to develop our young people and prepare them for the future.

A significant rise in standards, record GCSE results and increasing admissions into Year 7 have all been accomplished since we became part of the Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust.  The foundations  put in place continue to develop and grow as we deliver an excellent school for the unique and beautiful market town of Stamford, a school of which Stamford can be proud.

These are exciting times for Stamford Welland Academy.  The improvement to the learning environment coupled with our academic success and exceptional pastoral care and support that our students receive, all ensure that we have a thriving academy.

Stamford Welland Academy has high expectations of all its students and in return offers a high-quality education at the heart of its local community. We will develop our pupils into successful, confident, responsible and employable citizens.  The academy is a cultural hub for its students, their families and the community.

The Trust’s founding member was Swavesey Village College – a school regarded as ‘Outstanding’ in every respect by Ofsted. The core of this philosophy is:

  • Achievement for all
  • Valuing People
  • A high quality learning environment
  • The pursuit of excellence
  • Extending the boundaries of learning

You can read more about our values, vision and ethos here.

I would be delighted to answer any questions you might have in person or via email. If you would like to receive my regular Principal’s Bulletins, meet with me, or would like to visit the new academy please do get in touch to arrange a convenient time.

I look forward to meeting you in the future and hope that you will join us in achieving the aim of knowing and supporting every student to achieve and enjoy their school experience.
