Celebrating Achievement

The purpose driving Stamford Welland Academy is to provide high-quality learning for all so that:

Every member of our community is known, valued and supported to achieve in all areas at the highest level to become successful, confident and responsible for lifelong learning.

Celebrating this achievement is an important part of daily life at the academy.  There are a variety of ways in which achievement is celebrated at Stamford Welland Academy.  Below is a brief outline of some of the activities that take place throughout the year.


Assemblies These regularly take place at various stages throughout the term in which student achievements, inside and outside the classroom are recognised, rewarded and celebrated.

–        Whole School

–        Year 11

–        Year 7

Prize Giving An annual celebration of academic achievement, progress, sporting success, citizenship and service to others
Hall of Fame Names of students who have secure positions of responsibility are proudly displayed in the school foyer
Positions of Responsibility Students are given a variety of opportunities to develop their leadership opportunities; these positions of responsibility are acknowledged by the presentation of a variety of ‘pins and badges’. These include:


–        Prefects

–        Students Forum

–        Peer Mentors

–        Learning Champions

PLEDGES Awards Students are awarded ‘Lion Pin’ on completion of their BRONZE, SILVER and GOLD Awards
Reward Trips The students with the top PLEDGES points are taken on a variety of trips and activities from each House.
Student Success Student achievements are regularly published in the fortnightly Parent Bulletin
Sporting Prowess Students are awarded ‘sporting colours’ for regularly representing the school in competitive fixtures against local schools
