Choir delights crowds in Stamford

Many thanks to the Stamford Welland Academy Choir who delighted crowds of shoppers on Stamford High Street this morning, as they sang from their Winter Performance. Despite the chill in the air and the threat of rain, the students sang beautifully and received a wealth of compliments from passers-by.

Ms. Thackwray led the students through a number of songs, including Silent Night, Rule the World, War is Over and I wish it could be Christmas every day.

One gentleman was so overcome by the student’s voices that he presented them with a huge box of chocolates, which he had specially bought from Marks and Spencer. It was a very kind thing to do, which made the students’ day…. and of course,  it helped fuel them for the walk back to school.
