We are very proud to see our student, Dawda Dean Davis take first in the 100m sprint at the District Athletics Championships yesterday in Grantham.

Dawda sprinted the 100m in 11.73 seconds closely beating R.Potter who came 2nd in 11.75 seconds and Olalere running the race in 11.8 seconds.

Steve Bull, Director of Sport at Stamford Welland Academy, expressed that ” This is an amazing achievement to see  young lads sprinting the 100m at this speed and we are especially proud of Dawda. The current world record for the Youth 100m sprint is 10.26 seconds, so he’s not far behind!”

Dawda Dean David has got through to the County trials and we will be cheering him all the way.

We are just processing all the results from the day and will post these on the website. The whole SWA team had a remarkable day and we are proud of the whole team.
