Former student gives career advice to Year 10 students

Former student, Sadie Tapp, visited Stamford Welland Academy yesterday to talk with current Year 10 P1100486students about her studies and future career plans.

Sadie is currently an A-Level student at Stamford Endowed Schools, after joining them on the Scholarship programme. Stamford Endowed Schools offers these scholarships to Stamford Welland Academy students who meet the necessary criteria to join them for A-Level Studies.

P1100496 The criteria include achieving top grades in their GCSEs, passing an entrance examination and entrance interview. Sadie left to study A-Level Maths, Geography, Art and Textiles after achieving a string of A* and A grades in her GCSEs. Sadie has an incredible talent and passion for fashion and design and has just been awarded a place at the London College of Fashion which forms part of the University of Arts in London.

She spoke to several Year 10 Art, Photography and Textiles students about their future plans and goals and was also able to show them her portfolio of A-Level coursework. The current students were really enthused by her talent and loved looking through all of her work. When asked what advice she would give Year 10 students, she said, ‘Have a goal of where you want to be and a plan of how you will get there. I knew in Year 10 that I wanted to go into fashion design and I was able to work out which A-Levels I needed and where I would study to fulfil  my ambition’. Sound advice Sadie and we wish you lots of luck and success in your chosen career. P1100470   P1100508 P1100509 P1100510 P1100511
