Scholastic Book Fair comes to SWA

A group of book loving students are organising a scholastic book fair to raise money for their school library. The fair will take place at break time, lunch time and after school on Thursday 4th, Friday 5th, Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th February in the school library.

Books will start from as little as £2.99 and a percentage of the profits will be put towards funding new books for the school library. Books are suitable for children from 8 years old, so we welcome Key Stage 2 pupil from local primary schools to come along with their parents after school and purchase some of our books.

SWA students can also purchase books and should bring cash into school on book fair days should they wish to purchase (cards and cheque will not be accepted).

To tie in with the book fair, we are also launching a primary school competition to design the book cover of your favourite book. Pupils from local primary schools are eligible to enter and must create their own book cover on an A4 piece of paper of their favourite book. Pupils should write their name, age, year, primary school and parent’s contact details ( either email or mobile phone number) on the back of the A4 sheet. Entries can be handed in to Mrs Griffin on any of the book fair days in the school library at Stamford Welland Academy. The five winners of the competition will each receive a new book from our collection. Happy creating!
