It has been an inspirational few days as we have listened to all the stories of friendship, courage, determination and excitement coming out of the Year 7 Outward Bounds trip to Ullswater last weekend. Joining the majority of the Year 7 group, were a small group of Year 6 children from local primary schools, as well as a group of Year 8, 9 and 10 students who were working towards their leadership pledges. We are so proud of each and every student who pushed themselves to the limits and showed such bravery in many of the tasks they were being asked to complete. (Please take a look at our photo album to see our students climbing mountains, heights, gorges, swimming in the lakes, making camp, canoeing, tunnelling and most importantly bonding with their peers)
This trip could not have gone ahead without the organisation from our Parallel Curriculum Coordinator, Mr. Brister, who has been planning the trip for the best part of this year ( in fact we are sure he is already planning for 2016!). On behalf of students, parents and staff, a huge thank you to him for doing a fantastic job and giving our students opportunities of a lifetime!
We would also like to thank all our staff leaders who gave up their weekends (and a great deal of sleep!) to support the trip, look after, motivate, encourage and support all the students… We can tell by the photos that they enjoyed it ( especially swimming in the lake!). Thank you Mr. Bull, Mr.Treadwell, Miss Smith, Miss Gosling, Mrs Richardson, Mrs Thorogood and Mrs Twigger.
