Year 7 Winter Showcase

Well done to all the Year 7 students for their Winter Showcase last night. This was received from one of the spectators.

“I attended the Year 7 Winter Showcase at the school last night.  It was an evening for the new intake to show off to their parents/carers, what they have been up to since joining Stamford Welland Academy in September.

I was impressed, children addressing the audience in French and Mandarin, Christmas readings, images and commentary on the Lake District trip.  They talked about the progress they have made in English and Maths.  One young girl proudly told us how she had written to Mr Partington with some suggestions on how to address litter around the school, and how Mr Partington has invited her to a formal meeting to discuss the matter and look at her ideas.

The evening was rounded off with carol singing.

Confidence and enthusiasm poured out of those kids, it was great to see, and it certainly makes me feel we are on track with our bid to give Stamford the school it deserves.

Hope you all have a great Christmas,”
