Year 7s enjoy trip to Rockingham Castle

As part of our combined English and Humanities programme for Year 7s, our students visited Rockingham Castle in Northamptonshire. The students were given a guided tour of the castle which led them through from 1066 – the year of the Norman Invasion, through the civil wars to modern day.

Stamford Welland Academy Year 7 students are taught by a single teacher for English, Geography and History. This allows a single teacher to spend up to eight hours a week with their students, allowing an excellent bridge from primary school, where children are used to a single teacher for most of their week. This supports our promise to ensure every child is known, supported and valued.

The students had an excellent day – take a look at our gallery here
