In order to apply for a place for your Year 6 child to start secondary school in September 2026, you must apply online before 31st October 2025 via your local council’s website.

Rutland Applications for Year 6 for those applicants living in Rutland

Northamptonshire Applications for Year 6 for those applicants living in Northamptonshire

Year 7 Admissions

Stamford Welland Academy, will admit 150 students each year.

We have 150 places in Year 7 for September 2026 and will welcome all students.

Applications for places will be made in accordance with the relevant local authority admission arrangements and will be made on the Common Application Form provided and administered by the local authority.

Admissions must be made via local authorities only and not directly to Stamford Welland Academy.

Late applications i.e those submitted by the 1st of November and the 31st of March will be processed on the 1st of April.

Mid-Year Admissions

Stamford Welland Academy is a comprehensive school and we welcome students of all abilities and from all backgrounds.  If you would like to apply for a place at Stamford Welland Academy for your child, who is already of secondary school age, please contact Lincolnshire County Council website.

Parents/carers will have the right of appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel if they are dissatisfied with an admission decision of the Academy.

Leavers

Please email your child’s House Office for the documentation, if you plan to remove your child from the school.

Appeals Procedure

For Year 7 application (September entry only) appeals, the school follows the published appeals procedure set out by Lincolnshire County Council here.

Lincolnshire County Council will arrange appeals for these schools according to the timetable below for the September intake:

For all mid-year application appeals for Years 7-11

Stamford Welland Academy is usually oversubscribed so early discussion is essential. Please contact us directly regarding school place availability. If there is a vacancy in the year group, then a place will be allocated.  If we do not have a place in the Year Group, applicants will be placed on the waiting list according to the admission criteria that is met and the procedure for appeal will be explained.
