Post 16 Options
We have a wide variety of activities and support available to ensure a smooth transition between Key Stage 4 and Post 16. Students are taught about the options that are available to them Post 16 during their Learning for Life lessons and this is complemented by a number of talks and taster sessions from Colleges, Sixth Forms, Apprenticeship providers and local employers.
We also deliver lessons in employability skills such as CV writing, personal statements and approaching colleges and employers.
All students in Year 11 are offered a one-to-one careers interview with a Level 6 Careers Advisor. Additional interviews are offered to our Pupil Premium students in Year 10 and to students in Year 8 who are about to make their option choices.
Students are supported to complete their Post 16 applications during their Learning for Life lessons but anyone requiring further support is offered a one-to-one meeting with Mrs Blundell, who is able to support with the application or arrange taster sessions or meetings with the providers to ensure that your child is making the right choice for them.
If you are concerned about your child’s Post 16 options and would like to request further support then please email kblundell@stamfordwellandacademy.org
