Art, DT, Food at KS3 – The department is made up of vocational subjects, to ensure that every student exceeds, we equip them with skills and knowledge that they will use in real life and academically. Every student participates in practical skills from our subject area as well as theory and contextual studies. They gain transferable life skills such as cooking, sewing and making. They can complete year 8 with a broader understanding of careers linked to our subjects and how the subjects sits within a wider context (transferable practical and digital skills). Project based learning is used to embed the required underpinning skills used to move on to KS4.​

Literacy focus – SWA 6 Explicit Vocabulary use of the Frayer Model and tier 2 & 3 vocabulary​

We raise cultural awareness and an understanding of others by delivering projects that include people from different backgrounds. The department works to build on an aspirational and enjoyable curriculum. This is extended with clubs and a variety of extracurricular activities.
