Raising Attainment

Within this booklet you will find a detailed overview for each subject. You will see the topics studied at each stage throughout the year, support available for your child and guidance towards resources for how you can support your child with their learning. This is provided to enable you to have informed learning conversations with your child. There is also a section on revision with tips on how to revise, when it is most productive and how to be more successful in your revision.

We are currently using several platforms to set work and save resources.  These include Bromcom, Teams, Seneca Learning, Sparx and others.   It’s important to continue to use Bromcom (MCAS) to set the home learning tasks because it enables parents to support students via their own linked calendars and accounts.

GCSE POD

We are pleased to announce that we have invested in GCSE POD. This excellent resource, whilst being aimed primarily at GSCE students can be used by all year groups for both revision of topics and prior learning (flipped learning).

All students can access all of the resources on GCSE POD immediately by signing up using their name and the school’s name, as per the Parent flyer instructions below:

Sparx Maths

As part of our Maths curriculum we are always looking for the best online tools to support the students in their learning & homework. We now use an online platform called SPARX.

Tassomai

What is Tassomai?

Tassomai is an innovative online learning platform designed to help students build knowledge and confidence in key subjects. It uses a quiz-based system to make learning engaging and effective, tailoring questions to each student’s level of understanding and progress.

At SWA, Tassomai is used to support learning in Science, Geography, and History, helping students review and reinforce essential knowledge in these subjects. The program is an excellent tool for revision, providing students with regular, bite-sized quizzes that promote long-term memory retention.
